Recognition of Education and Qualifications Acquired outside the Czech Republic

 

  1. RECOGNITION OF SECONDARY SCHOOL LEAVING CERTIFICATE/VOCATIONAL CERTIFICATE

Secondary school leaving certificates/vocational certificate issued outside the Czech Republic are subject to formal Recognition of an Education and Qualifications Acquired Abroad. The process of Recognition of secondary education documents is regulated by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport.

HOW TO PROCEED?

  1.      Fill up the application

2.      To obtain recognition of their foreign education, applicants are required to submit hard copies of the following documents:

 

·       Legally attested copy of a Diploma, Leaving Exam Document or any other document proving qualification acquired abroad.

·       Proof of the content and scope of education completed at a foreign school

·       Proof that the school is recognized by the state under whose law the foreign certificate/diploma was issued.

·       Certified translations of both documents into Czech language

·        The authenticity of the signatures and stamps on the original foreign certificates and the fact that the school is recognized by the state, under whose law the foreign certificate was issued, must be verified by the relevant embassy of the Czech Republic and then by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, under whose law the foreign certificate was issued by a notary public in the territory of that State, unless otherwise provided by an international treaty.

·        Certified written power of attorney, if submitted by a person other than the applicant

·        A document proving the applicant's pernament residency in the Czech Republic

·        Proof of payment of the administrative fee for the receipt of the application in the amount of CZK 1,000 (information will be provided by the relevant regional authority (see below)

3) Submit the application to the competent regional authority (List of Regional Authorities) https://www.statnisprava.cz/rstsp/ciselniky.nsf/i/d0049)

4) The regional authority will assess the content and scope of education completed at a foreign school in comparison with education under a similar framework educational program in the Czech Republic.

 

  1. RECOGNITION OF ELECTROTECHNICAL UNIVERSITY DEGREE/NOSTRIFICATION

 

  1. The decisions upon the recognition of Electrotechnical University Degree (Bachelor and Master diplomas) are an exclusive competence of public higher education institutions (universities) offering a similar study programme in terms of content. This competence is not extended to private higher education institutions. 

All applicants are advised to inquire at competent Regional Authority which public higher education institution in the Czech Republic provides a study programme corresponding with their foreign education prior to applying for the recognition.

·      Certified translations of both documents into Czech language

·        Certified written power of attorney, if submitted by a person other than the applicant

  • Completed and signed Application for the Recognition of Foreign Higher Education in the Czech Republic form

·        Proof of payment of the administrative fee for the receipt of the application in the amount of CZK 1,000 (information will be provided by the relevant regional authority (see below)
